Floor Buying Guide

The timeline for installation of your project depends on which types of floors are being covered or removed, what they’re being covered or replaced with, and the size of the affected area. Our team is proud to work around your busy schedule so your installation is stress-free and convenient.
In some cases, yes. You can place new flooring on top of sheet vinyl or tile depending on the age, condition, stability and quality of your current flooring. Our team would be happy to assess the condition of your current floors to see if installing new flooring on top is a possibility.
Carpet is a great option for family friendly spaces that also provides a soft area for kids and pets to play. If you prefer low-maintenance options, vinyl flooring is another great choice that can be complemented by a large area rug. It’s more resistant to wear and tear than carpet and hardwood.
Laminate is mostly made with a thin printed veneer made to look like wood, over a compressed core. In some cases, it may have a piece of thin wood veneer, over the compressed core. The traditional laminates with a printed graphic veneer on top of the fiberboard core, are highly scratch resistant. Vinyl Plank and sheet vinyl are made with polyvinyl chloride resins (a type of plastic) that have been melted down and combined with a series of other elements and then pressed together into a plank or sheet product. Vinyl products will be scratch resistant and dent resistant, with a thinner profile
Yes, but keep the purpose and function of each space in mind when choosing tiles. For example, areas exposed to water need textured or non-slip tiles. Overall, most customers choose a matte or textured tile on a bathroom floor for slip resistance. Combining different types of tiles can create a stunning and dramatic effect. In many cases, especially in bathroom tile designs, you will see different types of tiles used together to create a custom design.
Porcelain and ceramic tiles are both made of a mineral-rich clay body that is fired at a high temperature to increase stability. Porcelain is traditionally high fired, which makes it harder and more durable than regular ceramic. Porcelain is also waterproof, but ceramic is less resistant to moisture so it is limited on use in wet areas and “submerged” applications.
In most cases, it’s not recommended. Depending on the length of the previous installation and condition of the pad, there could be an exception.
